Summer
The summers in the Außerfern always start a little later, because the winter usually lasts a little longer here due to the altitude. But once summer arrives, it also shines with pleasant temperatures (usually fine, not too hot), amazing distant views and balmy evenings (which can be spent perfectly on the balcony of the apartments).
Summer vacation in the Zugspitzarena
We have collected some pictures, videos (at the bottom of the page) and information about the most popular activities. There is of course much more to experience and explore – but you’ll see for yourself on your summer vacation at the Silberleithen Estate 😉
The summers in the Zugspitz Arena are an experience. Due to the alpine climate thrives a unique flora and fauna. And the best – one step out of the front door and you are right in the middle of it. Or already on the way to the next trail, the next hike to a peak, the cooling bath in one of the three nearby lakes – and, and, and….
And that was only now with us in the village 😉

What do you like?
Hiking
From the easy family hike to the Loisach springs (perfect on a hot summer day with children) to an early ascent to one of the peaks to tours with a fair amount of climbing (here we are happy to recommend a guide) – hikers will not be disappointed with us.
By the way, autumn here is an insider’s tip with colorful scenery and pleasant weather…
Biking
The bike trails of the Zugspitz Arena have received several awards.
Not for nothing – the routes vary in length and altitude – with challenging downhill routes to leisurely circular tours for the whole family.
You want to try an e-mountain bike? Just ask, we now have 4 in-house bikes (e.g. the one above in the picture)….
Water
Three of the lakes of the region are located in our local area – a short hike to the lakes with subsequent cooling down is simply a must during a summer vacation with us.
For ambitious water sports enthusiasts the lake Plansee is a hotspot for surfing.
For fisherman day passes are available for some waters. There is a fishing pond in the neighboring village.

Funsport
At Susanne’s you can rent monster scooters and mountain carts. The lift takes you and the equipment to the middle station or up to the Marienberg. From there it’s back down into the valley – who wants also over the new roller track with downhill character 😉

laze
You wouldn’t think it, but it’s also possible to be quiet and relaxed – just pack a picnic basket and explore nature. Completely decelerated, phone accidentally forgotten at home -simply enjoying nature in a relaxed way.
You have to try it. Best equipped with farmhouse bread, Kas, Landjägern and a sparkling lemonade….
Sightseeing
